LOVING NEPAL

Camped at the border plotting routes - and wearing his new Nepali hat

Back on the road - this time in Nepal

Flat farmland

And tea plantations

Hunting down our camp site

And finding the elephant stables

Saying hello to the baby

And lots of dust

And lots of roadworks

Tuk tuks with spotlights!!

Two funeral processions today - this one has the music pumping

Cremation time on the river

Bikes waiting for a job

Oxen carts still rule

Loving those hats

And all the loads

Trucks here are very bright

Love all the suspension bridges

Heasing over the mountains on the No 2 Highway!

It's a long and windy road

With spectacular views

Village life

Headsing back out of the mountains

From our camp spot - really a truck stop

And WOW in the morning we can see the mountains

Heading into Kathmandu

Powerline overload

And into the city centre - Durbar Square

So much to look at

The top middle window is where the Khumari will appear

The courtyard of the Kumari Ghar

This place is full of temples

No meat for me please!

But yes to these!

Practicing being a local

Flower sellors

More temples

He's a little bit ugly

This one only shows his whole face on special occasions

Inside the Palace

It is beautifully restored after the earthquake

Back at the stalls

Just looking - not buying

Plunging into the back streets

Those power lines

And fresh (?) water

No photos allowed - but here is a pic of a pic - the living goddess

Parade time

Views from the gondola

Up in our helicopter over Kathmandu

It's a great day

The one with the cloud is Everest

Drop off point

Up and over base camp

Everest herself!!

Back down for breakfast

And what a view (Everest on the left with a cloud)

And back to Kathmandu

Heading into Patan to explore

Doorways

Weaving

Still no meat for me

Visiting the Golden Temple

On to Patan's Durbar Square

Heading into the Palace

View from the window

Grind to order

Our view of the river from our camp spot on our way to Pokhara - pity about the rubbish collection point on the river

On the way to Pokhara

Getting glimpses of mountains

At Lakeside Pokhara

Meeting other travellors

And on our way to Jomsom

The terracing is amazing

Harvest time

More rice planted

Interesting roads

Carrying loads

The waterfall

Camping in the river bed

Sunrise

Heading through villages

And into Jomson

Kagberi

The temple

Shall I beat it

Exploring the streets

A local weaving

And grandfather
